Your Master Gardener

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinegrower. He removes every branch in me that bears no fruit. Every branch that bears fruit he prunes to make it bear more fruit.” John 15:1-2 NRSV

MP900431723[1] What makes a Master Gardener? To qualify for that title, a person must possess an extensive amount of knowledge and a variety of skills, all designed to help plant life flourish. These are expert horticulturists who educate the public and assist with landscape management.

Jesus let us know that God is the Master Gardener of our lives. That means God knows everything there is to know about us, about the soils we are planted in, the nutrients we need, and what we can become when properly pruned.

Today’s video is a reminder that God is working on us, like a loving Master Gardener, bringing us to the best soil, and feeding us what we need to blossom into the people we were created to be. To watch this video, just click here.

  1. I taught a class on this passage a while back and did a bit of research into the care of vineyards. Personally I found it gave me better insight into the meaning of the passage. I wanted to understand why the gardener prunes the vines. It was educational and I got to see lots of lovely pics of different vineyards.
